Domestic FAQs

Are your treatments guaranteed?2017-12-17T15:10:36+00:00

Yes, though some pests may require more than one treatment to achieve control. You will be advised by our technicians if additional visits are needed. The price you are quoted will include all visits to your home. There are no hidden extras for your peace of mind.

Could I get a free survey?2017-12-17T15:09:16+00:00

Yes, a free survey/advice is given as standard. Depending on the infestation, small problems can be successfully identified and the solution diagnosed by a telephone call.

However, some major pest infestations need a survey. This is to establish the root of the problem and provide the most cost effective treatment. We can advise you on this.

Are the poisons you use safe and clean?2017-12-17T15:08:04+00:00

All the rodenticides and insecticides we use are the safest and cleanest currently available. Insecticides are non-staining and the majority are odour free. They are completely safe once the treated surfaces are dry. Rodenticides are placed in lockable, tamper-proof boxes where children or animals are present.

After carrying out a rodent treatment, is there likely to be a bad smell?2017-12-17T15:07:11+00:00

Should this occur, we will conduct a thorough search of the premises to remove any deceased rodents.

In the unfortunate event that a rodent has died in an inaccessible area, we will supply a ‘rodent deodorant’ to mask any unpleasant smells. Simply call us and we will return to add the deodorant. There is no charge for this service.

Can you use live/humane traps?2017-12-17T15:06:04+00:00

Yes. We have to abide by the current legislation around use of traps. If this is a must for you, just let us know when you call and we will discuss how we can accommodate this option.

Can you stop the pests from coming back?2017-12-17T15:05:05+00:00

This is known as proofing. In the case of rodents (rats, mice and squirrels) and birds we may be able to offer you a quotation to carry out proofing works to prevent pests from returning. It is not usually practical to proof against insects, though it is sometimes possible to proof against cluster flies. We will provide you with advice in all instances.

Do I need to do anything before you carry out an insect treatment?2017-12-17T15:04:03+00:00

Prior to a flea treatment we recommend that any pets have been treated by a vet.
All carpets and soft furnishings have been thoroughly vacuumed and that excess clutter has been removed from the floors.

For bedbugs we ask that all bed linen is removed and washed on a high temperature. If there are drawers under the bed, we ask that all items are removed from them, this also applies to bedside cabinets and other items of furniture around the bed.

Before our visit we will supply you with a detailed instruction sheet.

Do we have to leave the house while you are spray treating for insects?2017-12-17T15:02:19+00:00

In most cases, Yes, you must leave the premises while we are carrying out a spraying treatment and only return when treated surfaces are dry. This is usually 2-3 hours, depending on the materials treated. Once dry all surfaces are perfectly safe to touch.
